Utah Valley drops 87-69 decision at Boise State

 
BOISEJustin Harmon scored a team-high 19 points and Trey Woodbury added 13 to lead Utah Valley in an 87-69 road loss to Boise State on Saturday afternoon at ExtraMile Arena in Boise, Idaho. 
 
The loss wraps up a stretch of four straight games on the road for the Wolverines who haven't played at home since defeating Northern Arizona on Nov. 12. Utah Valley falls to 3-4 on the season and now has a week off before hosting Long Beach State on Dec. 3 at the UCCU Center. 
 
Boise State (4-2) opened the game with back-to-back threes and jumped out to an 11-3 lead over the first three minutes. Woodbury then knocked down a jumper and then hit a three to take the Wolverines on a 7-2 run to get within three points, 13-10, with 15:16 to go in the first half. BSU then went on a 10-0 run over the next two minutes to take a 23-10 lead at the 13:10 mark. Fuller connected on a three-point play on the block and Woodbury hit a shot from long range as UVU scored six unanswered points to get within seven, 23-16, with 11:28 to go. Boise State went extended its lead back to 12 points, 30-18, with 7:44 remaining in the half. Utah Valley just edged the Broncos 15-14 over the final 7:44 as Boise State took a 44-33 lead into halftime. 
 
Le'Tre Darthard opened the second half with a three to cut the BSU lead to 10 points, 48-38, but Boise State responded with a three and then connected on a layup to extend its lead to 15 points, 53-38, with 15:36 to play. BSU took its biggest lead of the game, 62-43, with 11:38 to go before the Wolverines clawed back to get within 11 points, 73-62, with just over five minutes to play, but Boise State responded with an 11-0 run to take a 22-point, 84-62, lead with 3:27 left on the clock. UVU scored seven of the game's final 10 points as the Broncos held on for the 87-69 win.
 
Harmon scored his 19 points on a 7 of 14 clip from the field, including a 3 of 4 mark from three. He also pulled down four rebounds with one steal. Woodbury knocked down 4 of 9 shots from the field for his 13 points. He also had four rebounds. Cam Alford was also in double figures with 11 points on 4 of 7 shooting. 
 
Utah Valley shot a 42.9 percent (24-56) from the field, including a 35.3 percent (6-17) mark from long range. Boise State shot 50.8 percent (33-65) from the floor and 33.3 percent (9-27) from three-point range. 
 
Utah Valley will now have a week off before playing its first home game since Nov. 12 on Saturday, Dec. 3 against Big West Conference foe Long Beach State at the UCCU Center. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. (MT).
