SEATTLE, Washington—

Utah Valley now moves on to Sunday's WAC Tournament championship match against No. 3 New Mexico State. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. MT.Â
Â
Utah Valley improves to 14-3-3 overall on the season. The 14 wins ties the UVU record for wins in a single season with the 2015 team, which finished the year at 14-7-1. No team in UVU history has won 15 matches and the Wolverines will have the opportunity to set that mark on Sunday.Â
The win is the seventh straight victory for UVU and its ninth win in the team's last 10 matches. The Wolverines haven't lost a match since falling at Seattle U on Oct. 8.
Â
The Wolverines head to the WAC Tournament championship match for the fifth time in the last six years. UVU looks for its third WAC Tournament title in that same time frame.
"We're obviously thrilled with the result," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Lemay. "We've been resilient all year long and it was time for us to put our money where our mouth is. We've been talking about how we're going to react to adversity, and it was right in our face tonight. We changed our willingness to work in the second half and win balls and move off the ball. Lifting our tempo allowed us to win the game."Â
Â
Utah Valley fell behind early as Grand Canyon's Bekah Valdez scored a pair of goals just one minute apart in the 21st and 22nd minutes as the 'Lopes took a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Â
The Wolverines got on the scoreboard in the 64th minute as
Julianna Carter sent a ball from the left side to
Faith Webber near the top of the box. Webber then fired a shot with her right foot off the GCU keeper and into the goal, cutting the GCU lead to a 2-1 advantage.Â
Â
With just six minutes to play in regulation,
Hannah Lee sent a pass over to
Heather Stainbrook just inside the box on the left side of the field. Stainbrook then sent a cross into the box where
Jenna Shepherd got a foot on it and snuck it into the back of the net for the equalizer, tying the game at 2-2 in the 84th minute.
Â
Kathryn Wynn sent a pass up the field near the top of the box to Webber in the 108th minute. Webber then fired a shot with her left foot at the top of the box and past the GCU keeper on the left side of the goal with under two minutes remaining in the final overtime period for what would prove to be the game winner, securing Utah Valley a 3-2 win.
Â
Utah Valley out-shot Grand Canyon 28-13, including a 13-8 advantage on goal. The Wolverines had eight corner kicks to GCU's four. Webber led UVU with a match-high nine shots, including five on frame. Stainbrook tallied five shots, while Lee had four.Â
Â
