WBB makes trip to SLC to face Utes on Friday afternoon

OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University begins a stretch of four straight road games on Friday at the University of Utah. Tip is set for 1:30 p.m. MT from the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City.

The Wolverines (1-0) survived their season opener against Park Gilbert University on Monday, winning 59-54 after ending the game with a 10-0 run. Shay Fano had 21 points and 12 rebounds — both career highs in a UVU uniform. She hit the game-tying 3-pointer and then the go-ahead jumper on consecutive possessions in the final 80 seconds of the game en route to the win. 

UP NEXT
Next week the Wolverines will travel to UNLV for a game on Wednesday, Nov. 16 before taking on in-state rival Weber State on Saturday, Nov. 19. 

ABOUT UTAH
Utah defeated Idaho, 88-63, in its season opener on Monday. USC transfer Alissa Pili scored 27 in her debut. The Utes are just outside the Top 25 in both the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll. Utah has won all eight prior meetings including a 65-57 win last season in Salt Lake City. The Wolverines led 57-56 with under three minutes left, but Utah ended the game on a 9-0 run.
