Trey Woodbury scored a game-high 17 points with eight rebounds and five assists to lead Utah Valley to an 80-54 win over Antelope Valley on Friday night at the UCCU Center. The win marks head coach
Mark Madsen's 50th career win.

The win marks Utah Valley's fifth straight win as the Wolverines improve to 8-4 overall on the season.Â

"We started off a little slow but once we settled into the game, we had some good possessions and the offense started ratcheting itself up a notch and things started flowing," said Madsen. "I was impressed with our 19 assists. We continue to do a great job of sharing the ball and playing team basketball."

The Wolverines took a seven-point, 13-6 lead through the first seven minutes of the game. Antelope Valley then scored eight unanswered points take the lead, 14-13, with 10:25 left in the half.

Tim Ceaser knocked down a three to spark a 24-6 UVU run over the final 11 minutes to give the Wolverines a 17-point 37-20 lead at the break.

Utah Valley opened the second half on an 11-2 run over the first four minutes to extend its lead to 26 points, 48-22. The Wolverines kept their lead over the next 11 minutes, holding a 75-45 lead with 4:51 to play. UAV scored nine of the final 14 points but the Wolverine lead was too much for the Pioneers as UVU took the 80-54 win.  Â

Woodbury scored his game-high 17 points on a 5 of 11 clip from the field, including a 3 of 6 mark from long range. He also knocked down 4 of 6 shots at the free throw line. Woodbury matched a career high with eight assists to go along with five rebounds and two steals.

Blaze Nield scored 14 points, connecting on 3 of 6 shots from the field and 7 of 9 free throws. Harmon was also in double figures with 13 points, connecting on 6 of 14 shots from the floor. Harmon had a career-high four steals with three rebounds and two steals.

Aziz Bandaogo recorded his eighth double digit rebounding performance of the season with a game-high 12 rebounds. Bandaogo also had a pair of blocks.Â

Utah Valley shot a 41.2 percent (28-68) mark from the field with a 36.4 percent (8-22) clip from beyond the arc. The Wolverines held UAV to 38.3 percent (23-60) shooting and just a 22.2 percent (4-18) from three-point range. The Wolverines outrebounded the Pioneers 49-38 on the night. UVU had 19 assists on its 28 made buckets.Â

Utah Valley now travels to Eugene, Oregon to wrap up non-conference play at Oregon on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 8:30 p.m. (MT). The Game will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network. UVU will then open WAC play against Sam Houston on Thursday, Dec. 29 at the UCCU Center.
