OREM—Utah Valley University women's soccer standout
Amber Tripp has signed a professional contract to play for ŽFK Spartak Subotica in Subotica, Serbia.
"I am beyond excited to travel across the world to fulfill my dream of playing professional soccer," said Tripp. "I'm so grateful Spartak Subotica from Serbia saw potential in my game, and I'm prepared and ready to go out there and do my best. I owe this accomplishment to my family, coaches, teammates, and Utah Valley University for providing the perfect environment for success. It wasn't until
Chris Lemay became the head coach that I realized my dreams could become a reality. Coach Lemay, along with the girls beside me, instilled belief that I was capable of much more and through our hard work and success at UVU, I was able to get noticed. I truly wouldn't be where I am without UVU and I couldn't be more grateful for the support."

Spartak Subotica has won ten national championships, including nine in a row from 2011 to 2019. The team has also appeared in the UEFA Women's Champions League. The team plays in the Serbian Women's Super League, which is the top-level women's league in Serbia. It was founded in 2006. Spartak Subotica holds the most titles in league history.
"We couldn't be happier for Amber," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Lemay. "There is nobody that is more deserving. She's been committed to improving every aspect of her game that we've challenged her to really focus on. We want players that have a desire to play professionally. We want them to see UVU as a place that they can continue to develop and get better. It speaks volumes of the program that we have players now that are signing professional contracts and who continue to push to go to the next level. We have created an atmosphere and an environment that will help get our players to that next level."
Tripp played in more games (106) for Utah Valley than any other player in the history of the program. She played five seasons from 2017 to 2021 and is UVU's career leader in games played (106), games started (86), minutes played (7316), and assists (25). She ranks third all-time at UVU in points (65), shots attempted (167), and shots on goal (84) and is fifth all time with 20 goals scored.
Tripp led UVU to a pair of WAC Tournament championships (2017, 2020), a first-ever WAC regular season title (2020), two NCAA Tournament appearances (2017, 2020), and a first-ever NCAA Tournament win (2020). She earned numerous WAC awards, including WAC Freshman of the Year honors in 2017. She is a three-time First Team All-WAC honoree and a four-time Academic All-WAC award winner. Tripp is a two-time All-Region honoree.
"I plan on seeing many more professional contracts being signed by current and future Wolverines," Tripp said. "It's bittersweet having my college career come to an end but I'm stoked to embrace a new culture all while pushing my limits. As always, GO WOLVERINES!"
