OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University returns home to host California Baptist in a three-game WAC series beginning Friday with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. MT. The series finale will be Saturday with first pitch slated for noon. All three games can be seen live on the WAC Digital Network.

The Wolverines (13-17, 4-8) will be playing at home for the first time since March 26 and it will be just the second home WAC series of the season. Three of the final four series in conference play will be at home.

UVU was scheduled to play at Utah on Tuesday but weather forced the postponement of a game between the teams for a second time this season. The two are now slated to make up the game on Monday, April 25 in Salt Lake City.

Madison Carr continues to lead the WAC and entering the week was ranked 24th in the country with a .436 batting average. She's second among WAC players and 36th nationally with 48 hits, despite playing seven games fewer than the conference leader, who sits at 51 on the season. As a team, Utah Valley is second in the WAC and 23rd in the country with a team batting average of .317. UVU also ranks 33rd among all Division I teams in on-base percentage (.393), is 50th in team slugging (.473), and 52nd in scoring at 5.67 runs per game.

Megan Gibbs and Mikaela Thomson are tied for the team lead with nine home runs, which is also tied for fifth in the WAC. Thomson hit her second multi-home run game of the season — and UVU's fourth — in last Saturday's win at Grand Canyon. Her second home run was a seventh-inning grand slam that gave UVU the lead. It was her second grand slam, and the team's third, of the season.

ABOUT THE LANCERS
California Baptist (24-20, 6-6) boasts the second best team ERA in the league, at 2.79, with Alyssa Argomaniz leading the WAC with a 2.24 earned run average. The Lancers have won three straight, taking the last two games in a series against Dixie State before a midweek win over Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday.
