SEATTLE — No. 10 Washington used a six-run fifth inning to pull away from Utah Valley in a 9-1, six-inning contest on Monday at Husky Softball Stadium.
The Wolverines (20-23) got a fourth-inning home run from
Linnah Rebolledo, her sixth of the season, but that was the only hit and run that UW starter Kelley Lynch would allow. Lynch struck out 16 batters and was also 2-for-3 at the plate.
The Huskies (33-10) did the majority their early offensive damage at the top of the lineup with Sami Reynolds and Baylee Klingler. Reynolds was 3-for-3 and scored three runs while Klingler drove her in each time, including on a two-run home run to begin the big sixth inning.
The Wolverines are now set to close out the regular season with four home games, starting Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. MT against BYU in the UCCU Crosstown Clash. UVU will also host New Mexico State in the final WAC series of the regular season with Senior Day on Saturday.
