Brady McKinlay led the Utah Valley men's golf team with a second-round score of 1-under-par 71 on Saturday at the Gene Miranda Invitational at Eisenhower Golf Course in Colorado Springs. McKinlay is now tied for seventh with a two-round score of 3-under-par 141 (60-71).
Utah Valley is tied for 10th on the 24-team leaderboard with a two-round score of 11-over-par 587. The Wolverines carded a second-round 8-over-par 296 on Saturday.
"We definitely got the worst of the weather today," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Curran. "It didn't help that the round took almost seven hours. It was hard to stay focused or find any kind of rhythm. With a good round tomorrow, we can have a respectable finish."
McKinlay moved up five spots on the 120-player individual leaderboard with his 1-under-par 71 in round two. He is tied for seventh with a two-round score of 3-under-par 141 (70-71). The junior golfer eagled the 610-yard par-5 fifth hole and birdied three others.
Ryan Seamons shot an even par 72 in round two with three front-nine birdies. He is now tied for 16th at 1-under-par 143 (71-72).
Caden Weber moved up an impressive 17 spots on the leaderboard after carding a second-round even par 72. Weber registered five birdies on the day, including three on the back nine. Weber is now tied for 37th with a two-round 3-over-par 147 (75-72).
Kai Iguchi shot a 9-over-par 81 in round two and is now tied for 103rd with a two-round 12-over-par 156 (75-81).
Landon Anderson carded a 9-over-par 81 and is in 113th at 15-over-par 159 (78-81).
Joseph Glenn is leading three Wolverines who are playing in the individual tournament. Glenn carded an even par 72 and is tied for 11th at even par 144 (72-72).
Andrew Hawk shot a 1-over-par 73 on Saturday and is now alone in 28th with a two-round score of 6-over-par 150 (77-73).
Ethan Efford shot a 1-over-par 73 in round two and is now tied for 29th at 7-over-par 151 (77-74).
Utah Valley will now play the final round of the Gene Miranda Invitational on Sunday. The Wolverines will begin to tee off at 8:20 a.m. Live scoring will be available at GolfStat.com.
