TAMPA, Fla. — Utah Valley goalkeeper Jason Smith was named to the USL League 2 All-Western Conference team, the league announced Friday. Smith spent the summer playing for the Park City Red Wolves, helping lead the semi-pro club to an 8-2-2 record, a Mountain Division title and a trip to the conference quarterfinals in the USL League 2 playoffs.

Smith has started the 2022 campaign in top form, recording three clean sheets in four opportunities, which is tied for most in the NCAA. With 11 games left to play in the regular season, the sophomore from Fresno is already halfway to breaking the single-season shutout record of six, set by Mitch Jensen in the 2019 campaign.

The Wolverines continue play on Sunday against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. MDT and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
