OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University will close out its current two-game homestand on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. MT against California Baptist in the UCCU Center. The game will air live on ESPN+.
The Wolverines (4-10, 1-2) got another big game from Jaeden Brown but fell in overtime to New Mexico State on Wednesday, 63-57. Brown finished with 23 points, 17 rebounds, five steals and four blocks. Brown leads UVU with averages of 14.6 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game. She leads the WAC and is 12th in the country in blocks per game, is fourth in the league in scoring, and ranks second in rebounds.
In Wednesday's game against NM State, Eleyana Tafisi set a new career high with eight assists while Shay Fano added 11 points, seven boards and a season-high five assists.

The Wolverines travel to Cedar City to face Southern Utah next Wednesday before returning home to host Abilene Christian on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. MT.

California Baptist — 6-8 overall — moved to 2-1 in WAC play with a 74-62 road win at Seattle U on Thursday behind 21 points from Kinsley Barrington, who prepped at Timpview High School in Provo. The Lancers are 7-1 all-time against UVU and have won four straight in the series between the teams. UVU's win came on Feb. 26, 2020 in Orem, 74-57.
