OREM—
CJ Graham and the Wolverine defense picked up the clean sheet to help Utah Valley to a 0-0 draw against WAC rival Seattle U on Saturday night at Clyde Field.
Utah Valley moves its record to 8-3-5 overall. The Wolverines stay atop the WAC standings with a 5-0-2 record and 17 points. UVU extends its unbeaten streak to 10 matches with Saturday night's draw.
"I thought we played alright tonight," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Lemay. "We handled most of the possession on the night. We just didn't create enough good goal scoring opportunities. We need to be better in the final third and tighten things up in moments. We'll work on those things this week and get ready for Utah Tech next week."
Utah Valley outshot Seattle U 16-7 on the night, including a 6-2 advantage on frame.
Ruby Hladek led the Wolverines with six shots, including three on goal.
Heather Stainbrook had five shots with one on frame.
Faith Webber added three shots with one shot on goal.
Graham picked up her second solo shutout of the season, playing all 90 minutes with two saves.
Utah Valley will continue play at home on Thursday, Oct. 19 against in-state foe Utah Tech for an Old Hammer Rivalry game. The Wolverines will celebrate their seniors in a ceremony before the match. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
