OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University cross country heads to Cedar City this week for Southern Utah's Color Country Invitational. The races will be held at Cedar Ridge Golf Course with the women's 4K slated to start at 10:30 a.m. MT and the men's 6K to follow at 11 a.m. MT.
The UVU women are ranked 24th in the country for the second straight week and have picked up team wins in each of the first three competitions this fall. They are also ranked No. 5 in the Mountain Region while the men are No. 12 in the region.
Last week, Utah Valley was in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University. The women placed first in the 44-team field with
Morgan Nokes finishing ourth and
Ari Trimble landing in sixth. UVU had five runners in the top 24 en route to the victory. The men were eighth overall out of 43 teams and led by
Mo Guled's sixth-place finish.
The bulk of last week's squad that traveled to the Paul Short Run will be off this week, with the exceptions of
Emily Morden,
Agnieszka Lubowska, and
Kelsi Lindley on the women's side, and
Landon Hart on the men's side all expected to compete.
After Saturday's meet, the Wolverines will back in action on Friday, Oct. 13 at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M in College Station. This is a change from the original schedule, which previously had the team at Virginia and Santa Clara.
