CEDAR CITY, Utah — Utah Valley University senior
Abby Linford earned the individual win and also led the 24th-ranked Wolverine women to a team win at the Color Country Invitational on Saturday at Cedar Ridge Golf Course.
Linford recorded a 4K time of 14:29.05 while
Elizabeth Zwahlen came in second, finishing in 14:32.56. The Wolverines won the team title after placing five runners placing in the top 11.
Caila Odekirk (5th, 14:44.36),
Kelsi Lindley (10th, 15:02.92), and
Olivia Larsen (11th, 15:07.49) were the five Utah Valley competitors to factor in the winning team score of 27 points.
Seth Thompson led the men with a 12th-place finish in the 6K. Thompson's time was 19:30.1, with
Landon Hart coming in 20th with a time of 19:53.39.
Thomas Pickford (22nd, 22:04.67),
Caleb Ream (28th, 20:24.02), and
Bridger McCurdy (30th, 20:28.00) all recorded top 30 times.
The bulk of the squad that ran at the Paul Short Run had the week off from competition. The Wolverines will now head to the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M with the races set for Friday morning in College Station.
