GREENWOOD, Ind. — Utah Valley defenders Nik Kizerian and Floris van Nijnanten have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, CSC announced on Tuesday.
To qualify, student-athletes must post a 3.5 cumulative GPA and appear in 90% of their team's games, or start at least two thirds of their team's contests.
Kizerian, a junior from Salt Lake City, appeared in 16 games with 11 starts, including every game in WAC play. Kizerian finished the 2023 season with a career-high five points, with one goal and three assists. His goal against GCU in the regular season finale was the first of his career and helped propel the Wolverines to a spot in the WAC Tournament. Kizerian has posted a 3.66 cumulative GPA and is working towards his Bachelor's degree in Marketing.
Van Nijnanten, a senior from Amsterdam, Netherlands, appeared in 15 games with 13 starts. Van Nijnanten played the fourth-most minutes on the team with 1,216, and was part of the Utah Valley defense — alongside Kizerian — that helped extend the Wolverines' unbeaten run to 12 games at Clyde Field. Van Nijnanten has posted a 3.76 GPA, and is working towards his MBA.
