Utah Valley wraps up non-conference play at Boise State on Friday night

UTAH VALLEY TRAVELS TO PLAY BOISE STATE ON FRIDAY NIGHT

  • Utah Valley (6-6) will wrap up non-league play on the road as the team travels to The Gem State to take on Boise State (8-4) on Friday night at ExtraMile Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

  • Osiris Grady scored a career-high 16 points and Trevin Dorius added 15 to lead Utah Valley in a 79-63 setback to Liberty on Dec. 20 at the UCCU Center. The loss snapped UVU's 11-game home win streak, which was the eighth-longest home win streak in the country at the time.

  • Utah Valley has suffered just two losses over the last two seasons in the comfy confines of the UCCU Center. The Wolverines have won 21 of their last 23 games at home.

  • UVU opened WAC play with a 1-1 record with a win at home over Seattle U and a road loss to Utah Tech. UVU's next WAC game isn't until Jan. 4 against California Baptist at the UCCU Center.

  • Utah Valley is only one of six teams in the nation that returned players with a total of zero starts from the 2022-23 season. UVU has 11 new players this season, including seven transfers. The only returning players that saw time last season are Jaden McClanahan and Ethan Potter and neither started a game last season.

  • Todd Phillips enters his first season as the head coach of the Utah Valley basketball team.  Phillips is no stranger to UVU as he spent the past four seasons as an associate head coach/assistant coach under previous head coach Mark Madsen. Phillips helped UVU to two WAC regular season titles (2020-21, 2022-23) and an impressive 70-51 record, including 48 wins over the last two seasons.
