MEXICO CITY — Utah Valley softball alum Linnah Rebolledo was selected by Charros de Jalisco with the fourth pick in the first round of the outfielder portion of the Liga Mexicana de Softbol draft, held at the Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú in Mexico City on Thursday.
Rebolledo has been competing for the Mexico National Softball team since July of 2022, with whom she won the bronze medal at the Central American & Caribbean games this past summer. She also helped guide Mexico to a fourth place finish at the Pan American games last month in Chile.
Rebolledo played for Utah Valley from 2018-22, and was named to the All-WAC first team in each of her final two seasons in Orem. As a senior, she batted a career-best .367 with six home runs, 13 doubles and 39 runs batted in. She finished her career with a .322 average, 17 home runs, 33 doubles and 109 RBIs. Her 171 career hits rank seventh on the program's all-time list.
The six-team LMS begins play on January 25, 2024. Each team will play a 24-game regular season schedule, with the regular season ending on March 3. The top four teams will qualify for the postseason, set to be held March 5-17. Both the semifinal and final "Queen Series" will be best-of-five.
