New Orleans guard K'mani Doughty transfers to Utah Valley

OREM—Utah Valley head coach Todd Phillips has announced that New Orleans guard K'mani Doughty has transferred to Utah Valley and will play for the Wolverines next season.

"K'mani brings toughness and experience to Utah Valley," said Phillips. "He is a knock down shooter from three. He's a 6-5 wing who can not only stretch the floor with his shooting but can put it on the ground and attack the basket off the bounce. We are excited to have a wing with his experience and skill join the Wolverine family."

Doughty is a 195-pound, 6-foot-5 guard who played the past three seasons at New Orleans. He played 32 games, averaging 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 17.5 minutes per game for the Privateers last year. He scored a career-high 20 points with seven rebounds and five assists in a win over IUPUI (11/24/22) and scored in double figures nine times. He shot 39 percent from the field, including a 37.5 percent clip from long range.

In his three seasons at New Orleans, Doughty averaged 5.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game.

The Brooklyn, N.Y. native prepped at Lake Minneola in New York before transferring to Florida Prep in Melbourne, Florida.

Doughty will join the Wolverines for the 2023-24 season.
