Rebolledo, Team Mexico earn bronze at Central American & Caribbean Games

SAN SALVADOR — Utah Valley Softball alum Linnah Rebolledo earned the bronze medal with the Mexico National Softball Team at the 24th Central American and Caribbean Games last week in El Salvador.

Rebolledo appeared in all six games at the tournament, going 4-for-13 (.308) with a walk, RBI, and run scored. Mexico toppled Venezuela 8-1 in the third place game on Friday to clinch the bronze medal.

Rebolledo was named to the Mexican national team last July after finishing her career with the Wolverines. Rebolledo was named to the All-WAC first team in each of her final two seasons in Orem. As a senior, she batted a career-best .367 with six home runs, 13 doubles and 39 runs batted in. She finished her career with a .322 average, 17 home runs, 33 doubles and 109 RBIs. Her 171 career hits rank seventh on the program's all-time list.

Rebolledo was joined on the team by her younger sister Alyssa, who currently plays for former Wolverine Softball head coach Stacy May-Johnson at Fresno State.

Mexico led all countries with 353 total medalists, followed by Colombia (254) and Cuba (196).
