LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Utah Valley women's volleyball team was honored today by the United States Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association for team academic success. It is the sixth consecutive year UVU has received the designation and the tenth since 2012.
 
"I can't be more proud of our team's success in the classroom. They have worked hard to get the best grades possible. It's awesome to work with a team that cares so much about their academics," said UVU head coach Sam Atoa.
 
To qualify, teams must maintain a 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale for the entire academic year. The Wolverines had 13 members of the 2022 team earn academic All-WAC honors.
 
The USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award honored a record number of 1,333 collegiate and high school programs across the country. Joining UVU on the list from the WAC were Abilene Christian, Grand Canyon, and Stephen F. Austin.
