POCATELLO, Idaho—
Faith Webber recorded a brace and the Utah Valley defense picked up its first clean sheet of the season in a 6-0 shutout on the road over Idaho State on Sunday at Davis Field in Pocatello, Idaho.

"It was a collective effort and a shared workload today," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Lemay. "We picked up our first shutout of the year and checked that box. A handful of our players also played their first-ever collegiate minutes and
Sadie Beardall scored her first college goal. Those are the things we celebrated today. Now, it's time to get back to work and prepare for a very good Utah team on Wednesday. It's a game we've looked forward to for a long time."

Utah Valley (2-1-1) took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute when Hanna Lee dribbled towards the box and sent a ball straight ahead to
Faith Webber who then fired it past the keeper with her left foot for the score.

Manthy Brady sent a free kick in from the left side in the 18th minute towards the far post where
Jenna Shepherd Gremillion headed across the line to give the Wolverines a 2-0 advantage.Â

Nicole Olanda sent a short corner to
Taylor Nelson who sent it right back to Olanda. Olanda then sent a ball into the box where
Sydney Bushman headed it in to give Utah Valley a 3-0 lead.

Webber secured her brace after stealing the ball from an Idaho State player before making a move around the ISU keeper. Webber then fired a shot into the back of the net for her second goal of the match in the 65th minute to give the Wolverines a 4-0 lead.

Haley Richardson stole the ball from an Idaho State player near the top of the box and got the ball to
Sadie Beardall who then put it across the line for the goal to help lift the Wolverines to a 5-0 advantage in the 71st minute.

Brady sent a free kick into the box from the left side of the field in the 81st minute and Richardson got her foot on a scuffle in the box and sent the ball into the net to secure the Wolverines a 6-0 win.

Utah Valley fired a season-best 33 shots on the day, including 16 on frame. UVU held Idaho State (0-4-0) to just 10 shots and only one on goal. The Wolverines also tallied eight corner kicks while keeping the Bengals without a corner.

Webber led the Wolverines with a match-high six shots with four on frame.

Idalia Serrano played the first half in the box and was credited with the win.
Leah Wolf came into goal in the second half and secured one save. The pair picked up the combined shutout.Â

Utah Valley now travels up I-15 to take on in-state rival and Pac-12 foe Utah on Wednesday night in Salt Lake City. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.Â
