Tanner Toolson scored a game-high 28 points to lead Utah Valley to a 108-69 win over Eurobasket Anzola on Monday night in Anzola dell Emilia, Italy.
The win marks the second straight win for the Wolverines on its tour of Italy. The team will now travel to Rome to take on the Serbian Reds on Thursday night.
Toolson led UVU with 28 points, knocking down 10 of 14 shots from the field, including 5 of 7 shots from long range. Toolson knocked down all five of his shots from beyond the arc in the first half. He also pulled down three rebounds with one assist.
Caleb Stone-Carrawell tallied 15 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists. He connected on 6 of 9 shots from the floor, including a perfect 3 of 3 mark from three.
K'mani Doughty also scored 15 points with five rebounds and a pair of assists. Doughty was 4 of 11 from the field with a pair of threes.
Drake Allen and
Ethan Potter scored 14 points apiece. Allen also recorded one rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Potter pulled down five rebounds with two assists and a pair of steals.
Trevan Leonhardt scored six points with four rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Trevin Dorius had five points with a team-best seven rebounds. Nate Tshimanga scored five points with three rebounds.
Osiris Grady had four rebounds with two points, while
Jackson Holcombe pulled down six rebounds with two points.
As a team, Utah Valley connected on a 55.7 percent (39 of 70) clip from the field with a 52.3 percent (11 of 21) clip from beyond the arc. The Wolverines hit 72.7 percent (16 of 22) of its shots at the free throw line.
Utah Valley will wrap up play in Italy on Thursday night in Rome against the Serbian Reds. Tip-off is set for 12:30 p.m. MT.
