Rebolledo to play in inaugural Liga Mexicana de Softbol

MEXICO CITY — Utah Valley Softball alum and current Mexico National Softball Team outfielder Linnah Rebolledo will be playing in the inaugural Liga Mexicana de Softbol (LMS), the first professional softball league in Mexico.

The league will consist of six teams: Diablos Rojos del México, Bravos de León, El Águila de Veracruz, Leones de Yucatán, Olmecas de Tabasco and Sultanes de Monterrey.

The league will begin its first season on January 25, 2024, with the regular season concluding on February 25. Each team will play 20 games, with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs. The final two teams will compete in the "Queen Series" to determine the champion. A draft will be held in the coming months to decide the teams, which will consist of 25 players.

Rebolledo joined the Mexican national team in July 2022 after finishing her career with the Wolverines. Rebolledo was named to the All-WAC first team in each of her final two seasons in Orem. As a senior, she batted a career-best .367 with six home runs, 13 doubles and 39 runs batted in. She finished her career with a .322 average, 17 home runs, 33 doubles and 109 RBIs. Her 171 career hits rank seventh on the program's all-time list.
