OREM — Utah Valley women's soccer head coach
Chris Lemay has announced his program's 2025 signing class, featuring seven players who will join the Wolverines for the upcoming season.
Â
Signing with UVU are Brynlee Austin (Kaysville, Utah), Sophia Enwright (Birmingham, Michigan), Brooklyn Fuller (Santa Clarita, California), Chelsey Hughes (Salem, Utah), Malia Jessop (Vineyard, Utah), Leyla Llanos (Montreal, Canada), and Quinn Rustand (Tucson, Arizona).
Â
"We've added some very talented and athletic players from Utah, across the United States, and Canada," said Lemay. "This class includes players in every line, and we're excited to have six of the seven incoming freshmen starting with the program this spring. They're eager to get to work and help push this program in the right direction. With the addition of these players, our program has gotten better today."
Â
Brynlee Austin
Austin, a 5-foot-4 defender from Kaysville, Utah, excelled at Farmington High School, helping the team to a region championship and a state finals appearance in 2022. She earned Academic All-State honors as a senior. Austin also played for Wasatch 07 ZB GA and the 07 ODP team, helping her club to multiple Utah State Cup championships, a Far West Regional title, and a USYS national championship.
Â
"Brynlee reads the game well, and her distribution ability fits perfectly with our style of building from the back and keeping possession," said Lemay. "She is consistent and a threat when penetrating off the dribble into the midfield."
Â
Sophia Enwright
Enwright, a 5-foot-8 defender from Birmingham, Michigan, played club soccer with Nationals SC, leading her team to the national finals in the 2023-24 season and the quarterfinals in 2021-22.
Â
"Sophia is a great addition," said Lemay. "She has played at the highest level of club soccer and comes from an environment that has prepared her for success. She possesses all the qualities of a center back we value: athleticism, good size, strong game awareness, and comfort on the ball. Her decision-making is consistently sound."
Â
Brooklyn Fuller
Fuller, a 5-foot-6 midfielder from Santa Clarita, California, starred at Hart High School, leading deep playoff runs in the Division I CIF Southern Section as one of the team's top goal scorers. She also led Legends FC ECNL to the 2024 ECNL National Championship game and a semifinal appearance in 2023. Fuller was named one of the Top 25 Players to Watch at the 2023 Phoenix Fall ECNL Showcase.
Â
"Brooklyn is calm and composed on the ball," Lemay said. "She'll help dictate the tempo of matches with her ability to connect lines. Her experience in big matches will translate well to the college game."
Â
Chelsey Hughes
Hughes, a 5-foot-5 forward from Salem, Utah, shined at Salem Hills High School, earning All-Region and MVP honors in Region VII. She also played for Utah Celtic FC. Hughes is the third in her family to play soccer at UVU, following her sisters Ashley and Whitney.
Â
"Chelsey is an exciting wide forward," Lemay said. "She's athletic, strong, and fast, and she'll cause problems for opponents with her ability to get behind back lines and execute in 1v1 situations."
Â
Malia Jessop
Jessop, a 5-foot-4 midfielder from Vineyard, Utah, starred at Timpanogos High School, scoring 21 goals and tallying 12 assists during her senior season. She earned MVP honors while leading THS to four straight Region 8 championships and a runner-up finish in the 4A state finals.
Â
"Malia is a workhorse," Lemay said. "She's fit, competitive, and versatile enough to positively impact any position. She's a strong defender and will be a problem for opponents when we're in possession."
Â
Leyla Llanos
Llanos, a 5-foot-6 midfielder from Montreal, Canada, prepped at College Charlemagne and Kents Hill in Maine. She played club soccer for St. Laurent and Dollard SC.
Â
"Leyla is versatile and can contribute as a center back or holding midfielder," Lemay said. "She's athletic, sees the game well, and is effective both in possession and breaking lines off the dribble. She's also a strong 1v1 defender and solid in the air."
Â
Quinn Rustand
Rustand, a 5-foot-7 midfielder from Tucson, Arizona, prepped at Sabino High School and played club soccer for SC del Sol and GC Tucson. She helped her teams win two Arizona state championships, an ODP regional title, and earn recognition in regional and national talent ID programs.
Â
"Quinn has all the attributes of a top central midfielder," Lemay said. "She's technical, has excellent soccer IQ and vision, and covers ground well. We expect big things from her as soon as she steps on campus."
