OREM—Utah Valley women's soccer standout Lulie MacFarlane has been invited once again to join the Chile women's national team, earning a second call-up for the upcoming FIFA international window in March.
MacFarlane will train with the Chile national team in Chile for approximately a week before traveling to Paraguay for a pair of international friendlies against Paraguay scheduled for March 4 and March 7 in Ypané, Paraguay.
The invitation marks MacFarlane's second national team opportunity after previously joining Chile for international friendlies in California earlier this year.
MacFarlane, a 5-foot-4 senior forward/midfielder from Vancouver, British Columbia, has Chilean heritage through her mother and continues to gain valuable experience at the international level as she prepares for her final season at Utah Valley in 2026.
"Lu joined the Chile national team last month in their U.S.-based camp in Los Angeles and impressed the technical staff," said Utah Valley head coach Chris Lemay. "She has solidified her full Chilean passport and is eligible per FIFA regulations to participate in matches. We are happy for Lu to have this opportunity. She has worked hard and continues to develop, and I am confident that she will be impactful in these upcoming international matches. Chile is getting a tenacious forward/midfielder that is good off the dribble and can be dangerous in the final third."
MacFarlane recently completed her first season at Utah Valley in 2025, appearing in 19 matches and recording two goals and two assists for six points while helping the Wolverines capture their fourth straight Western Athletic Conference regular-season championship. Utah Valley also earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament, where the Wolverines dropped a 2-1 overtime decision at No. 12 Colorado in the opening round. Her 2025 campaign included goals against Gonzaga and Abilene Christian and assists against California Baptist and Tarleton State.
Prior to joining Utah Valley, MacFarlane played the 2024 season at UTSA, appearing in 16 matches with two starts and scoring one goal. She began her collegiate career at Memphis in 2023, helping the Tigers win both the American Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament titles while advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16. Across her collegiate career, MacFarlane has appeared in 38 matches with three goals and two assists.
MacFarlane enters her senior season at Utah Valley in 2026.
