Wolverines set for three duals in North Carolina

OREM, Utah— Utah Valley wrestling will travel to North Carolina this weekend for three duals. On Saturday, Nov. 23, they will compete in the Duke Quad Duals against Presbyterian at 8:00 a.m. MT and Duke at 10:00 a.m. MT before facing No. 7 NC State in the return of Adam Hall to Raleigh AT 5:00 p.m. MT from Reynolds Coliseum.
 
The Wolverines are coming off a loss to No. 3 Oklahoma State in their Big 12 opener and home opener. UVU pulled out two victories in the dual: No. 5 Terrell Barraclough defeated No. 6 Cameron Amine by tiebreaker at 174, and No. 25 Haiden Drury picked up a win over Idaho native Kolter Burton by a 5-0 decision. Utah Valley broke an attendance record during the dual, as 5,035 fans came out to the UCCU Center for the event.

The Duke Duals will be streamed on Youtube.com/GoUVU with live results on TrackWrestling. The nightcap with the Wolfpack will air on ACC Network+ with Evan Budrovich and Trent Hidlay on the call.
 
ABOUT PRESBYTERIAN
The Blue Hose are currently 0-2 in duals this season and lost their SoCon opener on Sunday to Davidson. 184-pounder Caleb Roe and heavyweight Morvens Saint Jean both picked up bonus wins in the dual for Presbyterian.
 
ABOUT DUKE
The Blue Devils are 1-3 this season and are coming off their first win of the year over Sacred Heart, 23-15. They are led by heavyweight Connor Barket who came in at No. 33 on WrestleStat's preseason rankings.
 
ABOUT THE WOLFPACK
NC State enters this week 4-0 in duals and are currently ranked as high as No. 7 in the national polls. Heavyweight Isaac Trumble was named the ACC's Wrestler of the Week, but the Wolfpack have multiple in the national rankings this week.
 
WELCOME BACK OLD FRIENDS
This week will mark the return of old friends to Raliegh, as UVU head coach Adam Hall will return to his old stomping grounds and bring the new-look Wolverines to Reynolds. Joining Hall at the reunion will be head assistant coach Timmy McCall, who coached there with Hall and trained with the Wolfpack RTC.
 
HELLO ERKIN
One UVU's all-time greats joined the Duke coaching staff this past summer. Erkin Tadzhimetov competed in a UVU singlet before joining Greg Williams' staff. He competed for two years as a student-athlete for UVU with a 48-16 record before helping multiple student-athletes qualify for the Nationals.
 
UP NEXT
Utah Valley will have Thanksgiving off from competition before next being at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 6-7. The tournament will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
