ARLINGTON, Texas — Utah Valley's Omar Yehya was named to the All-WAC first team and Isaac Emojong was named to the WAC All-Freshman team, the league announced in a release on Friday.
San Jose State's Angel Iniguez was named the league's Offensive Player of the Year, with Seattle U's Demian Alvarez and Edgar Leon winning Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the year, respectively. San Diego State's Djibril Doumbia and Ryan Hopkins were named the league's Goalkeeper and Coach of the Year.
For Yehya, it is his second consecutive All-WAC honor after being named to the second team in 2023. Yehya, a redshirt senior forward from Redlands, Calif., has put up arguably the most impressive offensive season in program history, with a league-best 12 goals and an additional three assists. Yehya's 12 goals are the second-most in a single season in program history, and the most in a regular season.
Emojong, a freshman from Davis, Calif., scored four goals in the 2024 regular season, second-most among all WAC freshmen. Emojong burst onto the scene with a goal in each of his first two college games, and a point in each of his first four. Emojong scored goals against Sac State, UC Davis, Florida Atlantic, and Lindenwood, while also assisting on a goal against UC San Diego.
Utah Valley opens the WAC Tournament on Sunday in Phoenix, Arizona, as the No. 4 seed against the No. 5 seed San Jose State Spartans. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. MST and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
