UTAH VALLEY SET TO TAKE ON ACC FOE STANFORD IN THE GOLDEN STATE
- Utah Valley will travel to Palo Alto, California, for a first-ever meeting against ACC foe Stanford on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. (MT) at Maples Pavilion. The game will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra, which is also available on ESPN+, and over the airwaves on the Wolverine Sports Network.

- Utah Valley wrapped up a challenging nine-day southern road trip last week, traveling to Murray, Kentucky, with a stop in Nashville, Tennessee, before heading to Birmingham, Alabama. The Wolverines finished the trip with a 2-2 record, picking up an impressive win over Murray State. UVU then defeated West Georgia while falling to Samford and North Dakota State at the Samford Thanksgiving Invitational.

- Utah Valley finished 1-2 at the Samford Thanksgiving Invitational, opening with a 77-74 victory over West Georgia behind Carter Welling's career-high 21-point, 11-rebound double-double. The Wolverines then suffered an 84-76 setback to host Samford despite leading for 36 minutes, followed by an 83-63 loss to North Dakota State to close out the tournament.

- Utah Valley edged out Murray State 77-75 in a thrilling road victory at the CFSB Center, sealed by Tanner Toolson's game-winning putback with 0.8 seconds remaining. Carter Welling led the Wolverines with a career-high 19 points and nine rebounds, while UVU dominated the boards with a 40-27 rebounding advantage. The win snapped Murray State's strong non-conference home record and improved Utah Valley to 3-1 on the season.

- After opening the season with two games at home, Utah Valley will be on the road for over a month with seven road games. The team will travel 15,180 miles during non-conference play, including trips to Murray, Kentucky; Birmingham, Alabama; Stanford, California; Harrisonburg, Virginia; Jacksonville, Alabama; Pocatello, Idaho; and Ogden, Utah. UVU will play 10 of its 14 total non-conference games on the road, with its next home game on Dec. 11 against North Dakota.

Tuesday night's game at Stanford will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra and ESPN+, which is available on the ESPN app and at ESPNplus.com. Kevin Danna and Ben Braun will be on the call for the ACC Network/ESPN+ broadcast. The game will also be broadcast over the air waves on the Wolverine Sports Network with Jim McCulloch and Brice Larson on the call. The radio broadcast will be aired live on ESPN 960 AM/103.9 FM radio in Utah County and 98.3 FM/105.1 (HD2) in Salt Lake City with a live stream available at ESPN960sports.com. Larson will host the pregame/halftime/postgame show for the game.
ABOUT STANFORD
Stanford (6-2) enters Tuesday night's matchup against Utah Valley after a tough 97-90 home loss to Cal Poly. The Cardinal, who led for over 33 minutes, saw their first home defeat of the season despite senior forward Maxime Raynaud's 21-point performance. Raynaud, who ranks third nationally in rebounds per game (11.6) and fifth in points per game (23.4), has been a dominant force for Stanford this season. Senior guard Jaylen Blakes added 17 points, eight assists, and four steals, while sophomore guard Benny Gealer contributed 17 points and a career-high five steals in the loss. Stanford is averaging 79.5 points per game and boasts a +10.6 scoring margin, led by their efficient offense and aggressive defense. The Cardinal ranks 54th nationally in steals per game (8.9) and 27th in turnover margin (+4.6). Stanford has also excelled on the boards, outrebounding opponents by an average of 5.6 per game. Tuesday's game at Maples Pavilion will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

Carter Welling scored 15 points and Osiris Grady added 10 to lead Utah Valley in an 83-63 loss to North Dakota State on Thanksgiving day, wrapping up play at the Samford Thanksgiving Invitational at the Pete Hanna Center. The setback concluded a stretch of three games in three days for the Wolverines, who finish their four-game southern road trip with a 2-2 record with wins over Murray State and West Georgia. Utah Valley now sits at 4-3 overall on the season. UVU led once, 6-5, three minutes into the game before North Dakota State seized control and never relinquished the lead, fueled by 14 made three-pointers. Welling led UVU with 15 points on 4-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-4 from three-point range, while hitting 5-of-6 at the free-throw line. He added five rebounds. Grady tallied 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting and pulled down three rebounds. Tanner Toolson and Trevan Leonhardt chipped in seven points apiece, while Ethan Potter had six. Kylin Green and Cory Wells came off the bench to score five points each. Utah Valley shot 44.4% (24-of-54) from the field, including 25% (5-of-20) from deep. North Dakota State countered with 55.3% (26-of-47) shooting overall and an impressive 51.9% (14-of-27) from beyond the arc. Despite the loss, UVU outrebounded the Bison 29-25 and outscored them 43-24 in the paint.
THE BROTHERS WELLING
Carter and Hayden Welling, brothers from Draper, Utah, and graduates of Corner Canyon High School, have made significant contributions to Utah Valley's success this season. The duo played together at UC Irvine last season before transferring to UVU, bringing their chemistry and experience to the Wolverines. Carter, a sophomore forward, leads the team with 14.8 points per game and ranks 31st nationally with 2.0 blocks per game. He has also posted a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game, highlighted by a career-best 21-point, 11-rebound double-double against West Georgia. Hayden, a junior forward, is averaging 8.0 points per game on an efficient 56.1% shooting from the field while adding 1.1 blocks per game, which ranks second on the team. The local duo adds size, skill, and versatility to the Wolverines' front court, while strengthening the team's hometown connection.

Utah Valley ranks 16th in the nation in blocks per game, averaging an impressive 5.9 swats per contest. Nine different Wolverines have recorded a block this season. Carter Welling leads the team with 12 blocks, followed by Hayden Welling and Cory Wells, each with eight. Carter Welling's 2.0 blocks per game ranks him 31st nationally.Â

Utah Valley redshirt sophomore guard Trevan Leonhardt is one of only 11 players in the nation averaging 5.4 or more assists per game while keeping turnovers under 1.7 per contest. He ranks 48th nationally in assist/turnover ratio at 3.17, while ranking 46th in the nation at 5.4 assists per game.Â
POTTER PERFECT FROM THE LINE AND AMONG THE NATION'S BEST SHOOTERS
Utah Valley's Ethan Potter is one of only 21 players nationally who remain perfect from the free throw line this season with 11 or more attempts, going 11-for-11. Dating back to last season, Potter has made 13 straight free throws. The all-time UVU record for consecutive free throws without a miss is 41 set by both Holton Hunsaker (2011-12) and Jake Toolson (2018-19). He is also among the top shooters in the country, ranking in the top 50 nationally with an impressive 60.4% shooting clip from the field this season.
UVU RANKS TOP-20 NATIONALLY IN MULTIPLE STAT CATEGORIES
Utah Valley ranks in the top 20 nationally in several statistical categories as of Dec. 1. The Wolverines are 11th in rebound margin (+10.7), 16th in blocks per game (5.9), and 29th in free throw attempts per game (25.9). UVU also ranks in the top 50 nationally in field goal percentage (40th, 49.4%) and free throws made per game (49th, 17.6).Â

Utah Valley's sophomore forward Carter Welling has been a force in the paint. He ranks fourth nationally in fouls drawn per 40 minutes at 8.4, according to KenPom.com. His ability to consistently get to the free-throw line highlights his physicality and efficiency in attacking opposing defenses.
TOOLSON LEGACY CONTINUES AT UTAH VALLEY
Redshirt sophomore guard Tanner Toolson is proudly carrying on the Toolson family legacy at Utah Valley, joining a long line of talented family members. Tanner is in his second season with the Wolverines, following his brother Conner Toolson (2016-19) and second cousins Jake Toolson (2017-19) and Ryan Toolson (2003-04, 2006-09).
Ryan Toolson remains UVU's all-time leading scorer with 2,163 career points and ranks second in NCAA history in free throw percentage (.939). He also holds program records for three-pointers made (315) and career assists (282). Jake Toolson became the first player in UVU history to win WAC Player of the Year in 2019, leading the Wolverines to 25 wins that season while earning AP All-America Honorable Mention honors. Conner Toolson scored 1,224 career points (5th all-time at UVU), ranks second in career steals (135), and third in career three-pointers made (196). He helped UVU to three straight postseason appearances and played professionally in Spain. Tanner's Dad, Andy, played at BYU from 1984-85, 87-90, and spent two seasons with the Utah Jazz and a storied career overseas.
Tanner averaged 9.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game in his freshman season (2023-24), starting 31 games. This season, he has elevated his play, averaging 10.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 31% from beyond the arc and 70% from the free-throw line. Tanner continues the Toolson family's storied tradition.
