OREM, Utah — Utah Valley head coach Cody Thomson has announced the signing of JUCO transfer infielder Paige Shumway to a National Letter of Intent as part of the 2025 signing class.
Shumway, who hails from Moab, Utah, played her freshman season at USU Eastern before transferring to Salt Lake CC where she'll play her sophomore year this upcoming spring.
As a freshman in 2023, Shumway batted .419 with nine home runs and 41 RBIs, adding six triples and 18 doubles in 54 games played. In 2024, Shumway posted three home runs and 11 RBIs in five games played before missing the remainder of the season due to injury.
A two-sport star, Shumway also played two years of volleyball at USUE. On the court, Shumway was named her league's player of the week six times and NJCAA national player of the week twice. She was named All-SWAC in each of her seasons played in both volleyball and softball.
Shumway prepped at Grand County HS, where she played for her father, Brook. She was named first team All-State in 2A in both softball and volleyball each year she played.
