Utah Valley infielder Peyton Hall has been named the D1Softball National Freshman of the Week, the publication announced Tuesday morning.
Hall, a native of Spanish Fork, Utah, has been on a tear at the plate of late. In five games last week, Hall went 8-for-17 (.471) with two home runs, two doubles, 11 RBIs, 5 runs scored, and two walks. Hall is also on an 11-game hitting streak, which is tied for the longest all-time by a UVU freshman. Hall is also the first Wolverine to win a national weekly award of any kind.
Utah Valley returns to action later today at home against the Boise State Broncos. The Wolverines will then shift their attention back to WAC play when they travel to face the GCU Lopes this weekend.
