WINDSOR, Colo.—
Zachary Erskine won co-medalist honors at the UNC Spring Invitational with a two-round score of 8-under-par 136 (69-67) after the third and final round was cancelled on Tuesday due to poor weather conditions at Raindance National Golf Course.
Erskine tied with Utah State's Enrique Karg for the top spot on the 46-player individual leaderboard. Erskine shot a 3-under-par 69 in round one before carding a 5-under-par 67 in round two on Monday. Erskine tallied 11 birdies and 22 pars over his two rounds of play on Monday.
"I'm extremely proud and excited for Zac," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Curran. "He played nearly flawless golf. I'm disappointed we didn't get to play the final round. We were really trending yesterday afternoon. It would have been fun to see what the guys could have done today."
Utah Valley shot a two-round 8-under-par 568 (279-289) and finished second on the seven-team leaderboard. Utah State won the team title with a two-round score of 21-under-par 555 (274-281).
Dane Huddleston shot a two-round 1-over-par 145 (76-69) finished in a tie for 13th on the individual leaderboard. Huddleston tallied nine birdies over his two rounds of play on Monday.
Kai Iguchi also carded a two-round score of 1-over-par 145 (73-72) and tied for 13th. He recorded seven birdies over his two rounds to go along with 23 pars.
Ryan Seamons shot a 1-over-par 145 (73-72) and also tied for the 13th spot on the leaderboard. Seamons notched six birdies over his two rounds on Monday.
Braden O'Grady, who played individually, shot a 9-over-par 153 (76-77) on Monday over his two rounds of play and finished in 31st place. O'Grady recorded the lone albatross of the tournament as he carded a 3-under-par 2 on the 542-yard par 5 16th hole.
Ethan Efford shot a 10-over-par 154 (74-80) and tied for 32nd on the leaderboard. He registered five birdies over the two rounds
The tournament was the final regular season event of the season for the Wolverines who will now prep for the upcoming WAC Championship, April 26-28, at The Rim at Chaparral Pines in Payson, Arizona.
