OREM—The Utah Valley University golf teams had six of its players named to the 2024 Academic All-District® team, selected by College Sports Communicators. The academic honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

Caylyn Ponich,
Abbey Porter, and
Millie Terrion were each named to the Academic All-District® team. Those earning the honor must hold at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Nominees must also have competed in 70% of the school's tournaments.
Efford holds a 3.84 GPA and is working on a degree in finance. He played in eight tournaments with a 74.9 scoring average in 23 rounds of play. Efford finished 12th at the Ram Master's Invitational with a three-round 1-over-par 211 (70-71-70). He finished 23rd at the WAC Championship.
Erskine is studying business & analysis and has a 3.82 GPA. He played in 10 tournaments for the Wolverines this past season with a 74.2 scoring average in 28 rounds of play. Erskine won the UNC Spring Invitational in April at RainDance National Golf Course in Windsor, Colorado with a two-round 8-under-par 136 (69-67).
Iguchi graduated with a degree in botany and wrapped up his time at UVU with a 3.89 GPA. The fifth-year senior wraps up an impressive career with Utah Valley. He played in 46 tournaments for the Wolverines and registered 133 rounds of action for UVU. Iguchi played in all 11 tournaments for UVU this past season, recording a 73.6 scoring average in 32 rounds of action. He finished in the top-20 four times, including a 12th place finish at the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship at TPC Sawgrass.
Ponich has an impressive 3.93 and graduated with a degree in family science. She played in all 10 tournaments for Utah Valley this season, recording a 76.6 scoring average in 30 rounds of play. Ponich had five top-30 finishes on the year, including an eighth-place finish at the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational with a three-round 9-over-par 225 (77-71-77). Her performance at the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invite lifted the Wolverines to the team championship.
Porter graduated with a degree in psychology and has a 3.60 GPA. She played in all 10 of UVU's tournaments this season with a 76.1 scoring average in 30 rounds of action. She had a pair of top-5 finishes, placing fifth at the SUU Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational and fifth at the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational in back-to-back tournaments. Her fifth-place finish at the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invite led the Wolverines to a team championship. Porter also finished 12th at the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational with a three-round 4-under-par 212 (69-72-71).
Terrion holds a 3.97 cumulative GPA and is studying art & design. She played in all 10 tournaments for the Wolverines, recording a 79.7 scoring average in 30 rounds of play. Her best finish of the season was at the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational where she placed 13th with a two-round 15-over-par 231 (76-75-80), helping the Wolverines to the team title. She also finished 30th at the WAC Championship.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
