McKINNEY, Texas—Colby Hutchens fired a 1-over-par 73 to lead the Utah Valley University men's golf team in Monday's opening round of the 2026 WAC Men's Golf Championship at the Dye Course at the Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, Texas.

Utah Valley sits tied for fifth in the seven-team field after carding a first-round score of 15-over-par 303. The Wolverines are tied with Southern Utah and sit one stroke back of fourth-place California Baptist. UT Arlington leads the tournament at 4-over-par 292, followed by Abilene Christian at 7-over and Tarleton State at 10-over.

Hutchens is tied for fourth on the individual leaderboard after his round of 73 and enters Tuesday's second round five shots back of leader Arth Sinha of UT Arlington, who opened with a 4-under-par 68.

Ty Brady is tied for 10th after posting a 3-over-par 75, while Isaiah Ellis is tied for 17th at 4-over-par 76. Andrew Hawk is tied for 27th following a 7-over-par 79, and Paxton Maxwell is tied for 29th at 8-over-par 80.

The second round of the championship will begin Tuesday morning. Utah Valley tee times (Central Time) are scheduled for 8:50 a.m. with Maxwell, 9:00 a.m. with Hawk, 9:10 a.m. with Ellis, 9:20 a.m. with Brady and 9:30 a.m. with Hutchens.
