UTAH VALLEY CONTINUES ROAD PLAY AT UC DAVIS, GONZAGA
Utah Valley (3-3-1) continues road play this week with two challenging matchups. The Wolverines will take on UC Davis (5-2-0) on Thursday at Aggie Soccer Field, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. MT. UVU will then travel to Spokane to face Gonzaga (3-2-1) on Sunday at Luger Field, with kickoff set for 2 p.m. MT. Thursday night's game at UC Davis will not be streamed, but Sunday's game at Gonzaga will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Last week, UVU dropped a 3-0 decision at home to No. 11 Utah State before securing a historic 2-0 victory over in-state rival Utah in Salt Lake City. The win marked the Wolverines' first-ever victory over Utah in nine tries, with Faith Webber scoring the game-winning goal. Haley Funn anchored the defense, and Leah Wolf secured the shutout with a standout performance between the posts. The Wolverines controlled 55% of possession and kept Utah off the scoreboard, ending the week with a 1-1 record.
Faith Webber leads the team with five goals, 11 points, 39 shots, 19 shots on goal, and two game-winning goals. She is tied with Ruby Hladek for the team lead in points; Hladek has three goals and three assists this season. Manthy Brady, Nixan Jackson, and Taylor Nelson each have two assists on the year. Sadie Beardall and Mia Owens have also found the back of the net.
In goal, Leah Wolf leads UVU with a 0.44 goals-against average, having allowed only one goal in four games. She has 13 saves and a .929 save percentage, holding a perfect 2-0-0 record with one shutout. CJ Graham has a 2.75 goals-against average with a 1-3-1 record and 25 saves.

Utah Valley and UC Davis will meet up on the pitch for the fifth time on Thursday night. UC Davis holds an all-time 3-1-0 advantage in the series. Utah Valley defeated the Aggies in the last meeting between the two schools, taking a 2-1 win in Orem on Sept. 15, 2013. Prior to UVU's win in 2013, UC Davis had won the previous three matchups. ABOUT GONZAGA
Gonzaga women's soccer holds a 3-2-1 record after a 3-0 shutout victory over Illinois-Chicago last Sunday, marking the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Paige Alexander led the way with a goal and an assist, and Emily Todd and Alexis Parker also found the back of the net for the Zags. Alexander's contributions have been vital this season, with her goal against UIC being her second of the year. Erin Ewers and Alexis Parker lead Gonzaga with two goals apiece. In goal, Lauren Towne has been solid, recording three shutouts and maintaining a 1.17 goals-against average. Gonzaga will host Utah Valley on Sunday, following a Thursday night matchup against New Mexico State.
SERIES HISTORY VS. THE BULLDOGS
Utah Valley and Utah will meet on the pitch for just the third time on Sunday afternoon. Gonzaga is a perfect 2-0-0 all-time against the Wolverines. Gonzaga won the last matchup between the two teams, 3-2, in Orem on Sept. 17, 2006. Gonzaga also took the only game played in Spokane, 2-1, in 2004.

Utah Valley continues to gain national recognition, receiving seven votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Wolverines are among the teams also receiving votes, alongside Mississippi State (15), Wake Forest (13), USC (10), Georgetown (8), Arizona State (3), and Oklahoma (1). This marks the fourth straight week that UVU has received votes in the Top-25 poll. Additionally, UVU moved up one spot to No. 8 in the United Soccer Coaches Pacific Region Top-10 poll. Two of Utah Valley's three losses this season have come against top-10 teams, including No. 2 Virginia and No. 9 Utah State.
TWO WOLVERINES EARN WAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Utah Valley's Haley Funn and Leah Wolf were named the WAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively. Funn, a redshirt junior defender, anchored the UVU defense in a historic 2-0 shutout victory over in-state rival Utah, playing a crucial role in securing the Wolverines' first-ever win over the Utes. Her leadership on the backline helped UVU control 55% of possession and keep Utah off the scoreboard.
Leah Wolf, a junior goalkeeper, earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors for her standout performances. Wolf played 135 minutes of flawless soccer, securing the shutout win over Utah and playing a pivotal second half against No. 11 Utah State without conceding a goal. She made 11 saves over the two matches to cap off an impressive week.
UVU PICKS UP HISTORIC 2-0 WIN OVER IN-STATE RIVAL UTAH
Utah Valley secured its first-ever victory over in-state rival and Big 12 opponent Utah with a 2-0 win on Sunday night at Ute Field in Salt Lake City. Faith Webber scored the game-winning goal in the 27th minute, and the Wolverines benefited from an own goal in the 48th minute to seal the victory.
UVU snapped a three-game skid and improved to 3-3-1 overall on the season. Utah dropped to 2-2-1. "I'm really proud of the team," said Utah Valley head coach Chris Lemay. "Coming off three losses, you have to have a certain mentality to continue showing up every day, learning from mistakes, and growing. Tonight's performance was very mature, and I'm really proud of the group."
The Wolverines held their own in a closely contested match, with Utah just edging UVU on shots, 11-10, and holding a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal. Webber led the Wolverines with a match-high four shots. Leah Wolf played all 90 minutes in goal, recording five saves to secure the shutout win.
