OREM—Utah Valley head coach
Todd Phillips has announced that Yuba College standout Majer Sullivan has transferred to Utah Valley and will play for the Wolverines this upcoming season.
Â
"We're excited to add a player of Majer's strength and physicalness," said Phillips. "He's a big strong body post whose impact on the floor will be felt right away. He was one of the strongest guys in Junior College last year. Majer will help control the paint with his rebounding and defensive presence."
Â
Sullivan, a 245-pound, 6-foot-8 center, played the past two seasons at Yuba College (2022-24) where he earned Bay Valley Conference First Team All-League honors. He led Yuba College to the California Community College Athletic Association Final Four and helped the Miners to a 55-6 record over his two seasons with the team. Sullivan averaged 10.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per game last season for the Miners. He shot 68% from the field.
Â
The Sacramento, California native prepped at Antelope High School. Sullivan set multiple school records during his time at AHS, including pulling down 30 rebounds in a single game and tallying 296 rebounds in a single season. He is already a member of the Antelope High School Hall of Fame.
Â
Nelson will join the Wolverines for the 2024-25 season.
