OREM, Utah – Utah Valley women's volleyball will travel to the Peach State this weekend for the Classic City Clash in Athens, Ga. The Wolverines will face Jacksonville on Friday, Sept. 13 at 3:00 p.m. MT before facing Boston College on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 10:30 a.m. MT. The tournament concludes with (RV) Georgia on Sept. 14 at 5:30 p.m. MT. All matches are set to be played at Stegeman Coliseum.

UVU Athletics' YouTube page will stream the Wolverines' matches against Jacksonville and Boston College this weekend. Saturday's tournament finale with (RV) Georgia will be aired on SEC Network+.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolverines finished 2-1 at the Ellesyn Invitational and were crowned tournament champs via the tiebreaker.
Avery Shewell took home her second tournament MVP award of the regular season as UVU bounced back after suffering a loss to Montana on Thursday. They dropped the opening set to Southern Miss before taking the next six tournament sets, including a 3-0 sweep of Boise State.
ABOUT THE DOLPHINS
Jacksonville enters Athens with a 3-3 record on the year after being picked ninth in the Atlantic Sun Conference poll. The Dolphins have been lethal from behind the service line this year, averaging over two aces per set, which ranks No. 21 nationally. Cami Kelsay leads the team with ten service aces this season and 57 kills.
ABOUT THE EAGLES
Boston College is off to a 5-1 start on the year, as the contest will feature two of the best blocking teams in the country. BC comes in first in the ACC, fifth nationally in blocks per set (3.33), and sixth nationally in total blocks (70) to lead the conference. Julia Haggerty leads the team with 39 total blocks. The Eagles come from one of the toughest volleyball leagues in the country.
ABOUT THE BULLDOGS
Georgia will be at home for the first time in 2024 this weekend and finished 1-2 last week at the Buffs Classic in Colorado. They are led by fifth-year middle blocker Sophie Fischer, a Preseason All-SEC selection for the fourth-placed Dawgs. She has added 37 blocks and 13 service aces this year and is paired with leading hitter Bianna Muoneke, who has tallied 95 kills this year.

RECORD-SETTING START
Utah Valley's 5-1 start is tied for the best start through six matches with the 2007 team, which also accomplished the feat. The Wolverines can claim the best start in the program's D1 history with a victory on Friday against Jacksonville. In 2007, Utah Valley lost its opener in five sets to Wyoming before winning its next five matches, including three five-set wins.
UP NEXT
Utah Valley will stay in Utah next week for three matches against in-state rivals. They will host Weber State (Sept. 17) before heading to Logan for Utah State (Sept. 19) and Provo on Sept. 21 for BYU.
