ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley University's Oakley Olson and Mo Guled have been named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Cross Country Athletes of the Week, for the meet week ending on Saturday, Sept. 13.

Both runners led the Wolverines at last week's BYU Autumn Classic at Lakeside Park in Orem. Olson, who's receiving the honor for the second time in three weeks this season, finished fifth overall while leading the 23rd-ranked UVU women to a second-place finish. Olson, who ran the 3-mile race in 15:34.0, was the runner-up at the season-opening UVU Invitational, leading the team to the team win and earning the WAC Athlete of the Week honor on Sept. 2. Guled, who also won the UVU Invitational to open the 2024 season, finished fourth last week in the men's 4-mile race, finishing in 19:53.0. 

Utah Valley is headed to Minnesota this week for the 38th Annual Roy Griak Invitational. The races will be contested on Friday morning and air on the B1G Network and Runnerspace.
