OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University cross country will compete at the 38th Annual Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota on Friday morning at Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The men will run an 8k that begins at 10 a.m. CT/9 a.m. MT while the women's 6k — featuring the 25th-ranked Wolverines — starts at 10:45 a.m. CT/9:45 a.m. MT. The races will air on the Big 10 Network (B1G+) and Runnerspace. Each race is slated to have 17 programs competing.
Utah Valley ran at the BYU Autumn Classic last week with
Mo Guled finishing fourth for the men and
Oakley Olson taking fifth in the women's race. Both runners were named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above WAC Cross Country Athletes of the Week on Monday, marking the second time in as many races that Olson was honored. Guled, who won the season-opening UVU Invitational, and Olson have led the Wolverines in both races so far this season.
Friday's meet is the first out-of-state race for UVU this season with three of the first four meets in Utah. It also marks the sixth time Utah Valley will run at the Roy Griak Invitational but just the first time since 2015.
Next up, the Wolverines will head to Cedar City for the Color Country Invitational at Southern Utah on Oct. 4.
