ARLINGTON, Texas — Utah Valley graduate defender Tom Dobek-Pietrowski has been named the UCU WAC Defensive Player of the Week for the match week ending Sept. 3, the league announced on Tuesday.

Dobek-Pietrowski anchored a Utah Valley defense that put up its best collective game of the young season against UC San Diego on Thursday. The Wolverines held the Tritons to just four total shots and no goals in open play. The lone UCSD goal came via a penalty following a handball.

This is Dobek-Pietrowski's second WAC Player of the Week honors. Dobek-Pietrowski earned the recognition in the last week of the 2023 regular season.

Utah Valley hits the road for a two-game trip to Florida against the FAU Owls and FGCU Eagles on Thursday and Sunday respectively. Both games will kick off at 5 p.m. MT and will be streamed on ESPN+.
