ARLINGTON, Texas – The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) announced its weekly volleyball awards on Tuesday afternoon. Utah Valley swept the three weekly accolades, led by Sami Blackett, earning her first Player of the Week honor, with Evalyn Chism being named Setter of the Week, and Lani Matavao earning Libero of the Week.

Blackett finished with 12 kills on 27 attacks to hit a season-high .370, committing two attack errors in the three-set match. She finished with a double-double, adding a career-high 15 digs in the match. Defensively, she stepped up to the net and added four block assists in the game.

Chism wins her seventh career award and second of 2025 after compiling 22 assists in the Wolverines' sweep over UT Arlington. Offensively, she added a kill on three attacks and had two service aces in the match. The Preseason WAC Setter of the Year helped add seven digs in the match.

Matavao wins the award for the second consecutive week and the eighth time in her career after recording 14 digs to average over 4.00 digs per set for the Wolverines. Offensively, she added three assists to help them to their third sweep in WAC play.

It's the second time that Utah Valley has swept all three awards in the last two seasons. They also did it in September 2024.

Utah Valley travels this week for matches against California Baptist (Oct. 16) and Southern Utah on Oct. 18. They will return home for the second match of the year against Utah Tech on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 1:00 p.m. MT inside Lockhart Arena.
