OREM—Three Utah Valley women's soccer student-athletes have earned United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region honors, the organization announced, recognizing excellence both academically and on the field.

Junior defender Mia Owens and senior midfielder Ruby Hladek were named to the Scholar All-West Region First Team, while senior defender Taylor Nelson earned Scholar All-West Region Second Team honors.

The three selections highlight Utah Valley's continued success in the classroom during another historic season on the field. The Wolverines finished 14-5-3, captured their fourth straight WAC regular-season championship and earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Owens earned first-team scholar recognition after posting a 3.95 GPA while pursuing a degree in marketing. The junior was also named the 2025 WAC Defensive Player of the Year after anchoring a Utah Valley back line that recorded seven shutouts on the season. Owens started all 22 matches, added one goal and two assists, and earned First Team All-WAC, WAC All-Tournament Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Pacific Region Second Team honors. Earlier this postseason, Owens was also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Third Team.

Hladek was also named to the Scholar All-West Region First Team after compiling a 3.76 GPA while working toward a degree in digital marketing. The senior was the 2025 WAC Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-WAC selection after producing one of the most productive attacking seasons in program history. Hladek finished with 15 goals and 13 assists, ranking among the national leaders in assists and total points, and concluded her Utah Valley career as the program's all-time assist leader. She was also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Third Team earlier this postseason.

Nelson rounded out Utah Valley's scholar honorees with a second-team selection after earning a 3.67 GPA while majoring in applied communication. A four-year starter on the UVU back line, Nelson started all 22 matches and logged more than 1,700 minutes during the season. She contributed two goals and three assists while helping the Wolverines to seven shutouts. Nelson earned Second Team All-WAC honors and was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

With three Scholar All-West Region selections, Utah Valley continues to demonstrate excellence at the highest levels academically and athletically under head coach Chris Lemay.
