Utah Valley Women’s Soccer Announces 2026 Non-Conference Schedule

5/18/2026 11:21:00 AM

OREM—Fresh off a fourth straight WAC regular season championship and an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament, Utah Valley University head women's soccer coach Chris Lemay has announced a challenging 2026 non-conference schedule as the program prepares for its first season in The Big West Conference.

Utah Valley will play nine non-conference matches prior to beginning league play in The Big West Conference, including seven home contests at UCCU Stadium and a pair of neutral-site matches in Hawaii.

The home slate will feature matchups against Michigan (Aug. 13), Utah (Aug. 17), Utah State (Aug. 24), Kansas (Aug. 27), BYU (Aug. 31), San Diego State (Sept. 12), and Weber State (Sept. 18). Utah Valley will also face Washington State (Sept. 3) and New Mexico State (Sept. 6) in Hawaii.

"We have worked hard to create a non-conference schedule that will challenge our players and prepare them for conference competition," said Lemay. "We are also proud to continue to showcase our beautiful stadium against some of the nation's top programs at home. The players are really looking forward to the opportunity to play two great matches in the Aloha State. The only two non-conference matches that will not be played at home will be played in Hawaii and provide a cool experience for the team."

Utah Valley's first-ever Big West Conference schedule will be announced soon.

Season tickets for the 2026 season at UCCU Stadium will go on sale July 1 at GoUVU.com/Tickets.

Utah Valley earned a 2-1 victory over Michigan in Ann Arbor during the 2024 season after previously falling 2-0 to the Wolverines in 2019. Michigan finished the 2025 season with a 6-8-4 overall record and a 3-4-4 mark in Big Ten Conference play. The match will mark Michigan's first-ever trip to Orem.

Utah – Aug. 17
Utah Valley and Utah will renew their in-state rivalry in Orem on Aug. 17. The Wolverines hold a 2-7-1 all-time record against the Utes, but Utah Valley has won the last two meetings in the series, including a 2-0 victory in Salt Lake City during the 2024 season and a 2-0 shutout win in Orem last year. Utah finished the 2025 season with a 7-10-3 overall record and a 2-7-2 mark in Big 12 Conference play.

Utah State – Aug. 24
Utah Valley will host Utah State on Aug. 24 at UCCU Stadium. The Aggies are coming off a Mountain West Conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2025 after posting a 10-6-7 overall record. Utah State has now won three straight Mountain West Conference Tournament championships and advanced to three consecutive NCAA Tournaments.

Kansas – Aug. 27
Utah Valley and Kansas will meet for the second time in program history after the Jayhawks earned a narrow 3-2 victory in Lawrence during the 2025 season. Kansas finished the 2025 campaign with a 16-6-3 overall record, with the 16 wins marking the fourth-most victories in a season in program history. The Jayhawks also advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for just the third time in school history.

BYU – Aug. 31
Utah Valley and BYU will compete for the 11th time at UCCU Stadium on Aug. 31. It will mark just the third time the Wolverines have hosted the Cougars in Orem, with previous meetings at UCCU Stadium coming in 2019 and 2023. BYU defeated Utah Valley 2-0 last season in Provo. BYU finished the 2025 season with an 11-7-6 overall record and a 4-5-2 mark in Big 12 play. The Cougars entered the Big 12 Tournament as the lowest seed before upsetting TCU, Baylor, and Kansas to win the tournament championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament. BYU then advanced past Utah State and UCLA on penalty kicks in the NCAA Tournament before falling to Stanford in the Sweet 16.

Washington State – Sept. 3
Utah Valley will face Washington State in Oahu, Hawaii, on Sept. 3. The matchup will mark just the second all-time meeting between the two programs, with Utah Valley earning a 3-2 home victory over the Cougars in 2017. Washington State finished the 2025 season with a 7-7-5 overall record and a 5-4-2 mark in West Coast Conference play. The Cougars also enter the 2026 season under new head coach Chris Citowicki, who was named head coach after spending the previous eight seasons leading Montana.

New Mexico State – Sept. 6
Utah Valley and New Mexico State will meet in Hawaii on Sept. 6 in a matchup between former WAC opponents. The Wolverines hold a 10-1-4 all-time record against the Aggies. New Mexico State finished the 2025 season with a 2-12-4 overall record and a 1-3-4 mark in Conference USA play.

San Diego State – Sept. 12
Utah Valley will host San Diego State on Sept. 12 at UCCU Stadium. The matchup will mark the third all-time meeting between the two programs, with the series tied 1-1. Both previous meetings were played in San Diego during the 2015 and 2024 seasons with UVU taking a 4-2 win over SDSU in the last meeting in 2024. San Diego State finished the 2025 season with a 9-4-7 overall record and a 4-2-4 mark in Mountain West Conference play. The Aztecs tied top-seeded Boise State in the semifinals of the 2025 Mountain West Conference Tournament, but did not advance following a penalty kick shootout.

Weber State – Sept. 18
Utah Valley will close non-conference play against Weber State on Sept. 18 in Orem. The match will mark the return of longtime UVU assistant coach Kyle Christensen, who took over the head coaching duties at Weber State in 2025. The Wildcats are coming off a breakthrough season in Christensen's first season with the team. Weber State posted a 12-6-2 overall record and a 5-2-1 mark in Big Sky play before falling in penalty kicks in the Big Sky Tournament championship match.
