Softball Unveils 2026 Schedule

12/4/2025 5:39:00 PM

OREM, Utah — Utah Valley head softball coach Cody Thomson has announced his team's 2026 schedule, featuring multiple games against every in-state school, four non-conference tournaments, and an 18-game round robin WAC schedule.

The Wolverines will play 16 games against in-state opponents, the most in the program's Division I era. It is also the first time the team will play every team in the state multiple times since Utah Tech moved to D-I in 2020-21.

"I feel like we have put together a great schedule," said Thomson. "I believe it'll help us be in a good position to have a lot of success in the WAC."

Utah Valley opens the season on the banks of the Rio Grande on Feb. 6-8 at the UTEP Tournament, hosted jointly by the Miners and former WAC rival New Mexico State. The Wolverines will play two games against UTEP, as well as one game each against NMSU, St. Thomas (MN), and UMass-Lowell.

The Wolverines will then head to Tucson, Ariz., from Feb. 13-15 for the Bear Down Fiesta, hosted by Arizona. Utah Valley will play two games against the host Wildcats, as well as one against Drake, Creighton, and Coastal Carolina.

Utah Valley plays its final out-of-state tournament in Las Vegas at the Rebel Classic, hosted by UNLV from Feb. 19-21. The Wolverines will face off with the host Rebels and longtime foe Idaho State, as well as a pair of new faces in Valparaiso and Merrimack. Those two games will mark the first time Utah Valley has faced Valpo and Merrimack in a team sport.

UVU plays its first games in Utah at the Beehive Classic in St. George from Feb. 27-March 1. Utah Valley will face Utah State twice as well as Weber State and Utah once in the four-game tournament made up exclusively of teams from Utah.

Utah Valley wraps up non-conference play with a trip to Northern California. The Wolverines will meet up with former associate head coach Sam Kukuk and the Pacific Tigers for a three-game set on March 7-8, then make the short trip north for single midweek games at UC Davis and Sac State on March 9 and 10 respectively.

UVU opens the home season with a six game homestand that includes five games against in-state rivals. The Wolverines host Weber State on March 17 before welcoming Utah Tech for the first conference series of the season on March 20-21. Utah Valley will then host defending Mountain West champion Nevada and BYU on March 23 and 24th respectively.

In the team's final season in the WAC, the Wolverines will travel to California Baptist (March 27-28), Abilene Christian (April 10-11), and Southern Utah (May 1-2). Utah Valley will host conference series against Utah Tech (March 20-21), UT Arlington (April 3-4), and Tarleton State (April 17-18).

Utah Valley will play home-and-home midweeks against Weber State and BYU, and host single games against Nevada and Utah State. The Wolverines will also travel to Idaho State and Utah for midweeks.

The 2026 WAC Tournament will be held from May 6-9 in Stephenville, Texas, on the campus of Tarleton State. The top six teams will qualify for the tournament, with the top two seeds receiving byes to the double elimination portion of the bracket.
