LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The Utah Valley University women's golf team posted its best round of the tournament with a 17-over-par 305 in Tuesday's final round at the Wigwam Preview, held at Wigwam Resort's Gold Course. The Wolverines placed eighth in the nine-team field, finishing with a three-round total of 932 (316-311-305).

Sophomore Chloe Jang led UVU with a 16th-place finish at 11-over-par 227 (80-72-75) after shooting a 3-over-par 75 in the final round. Jang recorded six birdies across the three rounds, including two on the back nine in Tuesday's finale.

"We were privileged to host our WAC teams at Wigwam this week," said head coach Juli Erekson. "It was a great 'preview' and practice for our WAC championship in April. There was great energy and competition, and we appreciate the support from our fellow conference teams. It was also great for our team to get out on grass and compete. Early spring reps help us evaluate where we need the most work. We had a better showing each day, shaving 5-6 strokes off our score. Chloe had a great finish and showed resilience after a tough first round."

Maria Ortiz posted UVU's best final-round score, firing a 2-over-par 74 while competing as an individual. She recorded four birdies, including three on the back nine, and finished tied for 38th at 24-over-par 240 (78-88-74).

Rylie Rodriguez shot a 3-over-par 75 in the final round to finish tied for 31st at 19-over-par 235 (78-82-75). She tallied eight birdies during the event, including three on Tuesday, with back-to-back birdies on the fifth and sixth holes.

Mia Pace and Valentina Zuleta tied for 33rd at 20-over-par 236. Pace closed with a 5-over-par 77 (80-79-77), while Zuleta carded an 8-over-par 80 (78-78-80). Pati Uluave shot her best round of the tournament with a 6-over-par 78 to finish in 47th place at 34-over-par 250 (87-85-78).

Millie Terrion, also competing individually, carded a 4-over-par 76 in the final round to tie for 40th at 25-over-par 241 (84-81-76). She eagled the par-5 first hole and added two birdies on Tuesday.

British Columbia's Grace Bell claimed the individual title with a final-round 2-under-par 70, finishing at 1-under-par 215 (72-73-70). Tarleton State captured the team title with a three-round score of 30-over-par 894 (296-300-298).

Utah Valley will now return home before heading back to Wigwam next week for the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate, which will take place Feb. 11-12 on Wigwam's Blue Course in Litchfield Park.
