Utah Valley set for Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational in Tacoma

OREM—Utah Valley women's golf continues its fall schedule Monday and Tuesday at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, hosted by Seattle University at Tacoma Country & Golf Club in Tacoma, Washington.

The two-day tournament will be played Oct. 5-6 on the par-72, 6,014-yard Tacoma Country & Golf Club layout. Competition begins with an 8 a.m. PT shotgun start each day.

Utah Valley will compete against a 17-team field that includes host Seattle, Weber State, UC Riverside, Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, CSUN, Cal State Fullerton, Nevada, California Baptist, Washington State, Portland State, Idaho, Grand Canyon, North Dakota, UC Irvine and Fresno State.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

The Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational will feature 54 holes over two days, with teams playing 36 holes Monday before returning for the final 18 holes Tuesday.

The event has been hosted annually by Seattle University since 2014 and is named in honor of Washington Sports Hall of Fame and Seattle University Hall of Fame golfer Pat Lesser Harbottle.

TEAM UVU

Utah Valley's five-player scoring lineup will feature Adley Nelson, Maria Ortiz, Mia Pace, Rachel Lillywhite and Sydney Richards.

Kaylee Westfall will also represent the Wolverines while competing as an individual.

THE FIELD

The 17-team field includes Utah Valley, Seattle, Weber State, UC Riverside, Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, CSUN, Cal State Fullerton, Nevada, California Baptist, Washington State, Portland State, Idaho, Grand Canyon, North Dakota, UC Irvine and Fresno State.

LAST TIME OUT

Adley Nelson led Utah Valley to a 12th-place team finish with a top-30 individual showing as the Wolverines wrapped up play at the Kalispel Invitational at Kalispel Golf and Country Club in Spokane, Washington.

Nelson finished tied for 28th on the individual leaderboard at 8-over-par 224 (73-76-75), closing the tournament with a 3-over-par 75 in the final round.

As a team, Utah Valley finished 12th in the 14-team field at 50-over-par 914 (294-305-315). Boise State captured the team title at 3-under-par, while Grand Canyon finished second at 11-over and Fresno State placed third at 13-over.

Maria Ortiz finished tied for 55th at 16-over-par 232 (77-75-80), while Mia Pace and Rachel Lillywhite tied for 59th at 17-over-par 233. Sydney Richards tied for 68th at 20-over-par 236.

Competing as an individual, Kaylee Westfall finished tied for 64th at 18-over-par 234 (79-80-75).
