OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University track & field travels to Reno this week for the Wolf Pack Classic, hosted by the University of Nevada. The meet is being held at the Reno Sparks Convention Center on Friday and Saturday.
While the distance runners will be off this week, the Wolverines will send a handful of competitors including standouts
Quincy Bonds and
Kelsi Oldroyd. Both hold school records and are coming off of wins last week at Utah State. Bonds broke both her 60-meter and 60-meter hurdles school records while winning both events, and Oldroyd had the top long jump mark in the WAC this season with her win in Logan.
Jocelyn Phillips, who broke the school record in the pole vault last week, is also slated to compete this Friday.
Friday's field events begin at 10 a.m. with the women's weight throw. The long jump and pole vault will also be contested on Friday, with the 60-meter races also taking place on Friday on the track. Saturday begins at 10 a.m. with the women's high jump, men's triple jump, and women's shot put. Utah Valley will also have entries in the 400 and 200, which will also be held on Saturday.
Next week, UVU is scheduled to compete at the Husky Classic at Washington and the Mountain States Games at Idaho State.
