SPOKANE, Wash. — Utah Valley University's women captured their first WAC Indoor Track & Field team championship on Saturday, overtaking Tarleton State in the 3,000-meter final in the penultimate event of the meet as an encore to last spring's outdoor title.

Quincy Bonds continued her impressive indoor season with a WAC title in the 60-meter hurdles and silvers in both the 60 and 200-meter races. Bonds set a meet record and school record in winning the 60mH in 8.18 seconds. She broke her own PR and school records in both the 60 (7.35) and the 200 (23.65) as well. Bonds scored 26 points and was named the Women's Most Outstanding Track Athlete of the meet.

UVU's women finished with 169 team points with Tarleton State finishing second with 148 points.

The Wolverines added four more individual event titles on Saturday, including Mo Guled going 2-for-2 with another dominant win, this time in the 3,000. Guled won the 5,000-meter final on Friday, as did Anna Martin for the UVU women. Like in Friday's final, Guled took a big early lead to coast to the win. He finished the 3k in 8:11.80, with Alex Hartshorn (8:21.47) finishing third, Abdulsalam Farah (8:22.19) was fourth, Wyatt Mortenson (8:23.17) took fifth, Henry Giles (8:26.59) landed in seventh, and Caleb Ream (8:28.06) was eighth. The 28 points scored by the 3k got the men to second place, but they came up just short as Grand Canyon won the men's title with 157 points, to 154 from Utah Valley.

Caila Odekirk won her third WAC title with her finish in the 3k as the Wolverines had seven of the top nine finishers to score 26 team points. Martin (9:40.77) was third with Oakley Olson (9:57.45), Natalia Boltz (9:58.79), Liza Sybrowsky (9:58.79), Allie Warner (10:00.53), and Liz Zwahlen taking spots five through nine.

Hopper became the first female to win the WAC Indoor 400-meter gold from Utah Valley with her victory on Saturday.  The school record holder, Hopper ran the final in 54.64 to win the title.

Gabe Remy earned a silver in the men's 60-meter final, matching his PR of 6.69 seconds, which is No. 2 all-time. Kade Thompson also advanced to the final and finished eighth in 6.80 seconds and was fifth in the 200-meter final, finishing in 21.09 seconds after setting a PR and school record in the event on Friday.

In the women's mile, Elisabeth Ferrell had a personal record while finishing second to earn silver and eight points in 4:52.36. That time puts her at No. 8 in the top 10. Oakley Olson (5:56.81) was fourth, Allie Warner (4:58.52) took sixth, and Liz Zwahlen (4:58.69) was seventh as the group earned 18 team points. The men also had four entrants in the mile final, with Farah leading the way with a bronze finish in 4:10.00. Adam Bunker was fourth in 4:12.48, and Gilbert Olivas finished eighth in 4:14.11 with the trio scoring 12 team points.

In the triple jump, Caleb Washington and Benati Louvouezo both set personal records while earning points for the team. Washington's best jump was 14.34 meters, good enough for fifth, while Louvouezo jumped 14.22 meters and finished eighth.

The men's 4x400 of Cameron Franklin, Isaiah Archer, Max Clemons, and Adam Bunker also earned bronze and set the No. 2 mark in the top 10 with a time of 3:16.19. Cole Johnson, who finished ninth in the heptathlon, moved to No. 10 in the record book with his PR of 4579 points.
