BANDON, Ore.—Â
Dane Huddleston fired a final-round 4-under-par 67 at Bandon Trails to claim his fourth individual title of the season, finishing with a three-round total of 11-under-par 202 (67-68-67) at the Bandon Dunes Championship.
Utah Valley placed tied for second as a team after carding a final-round 1-over-par 285, finishing with a three-round total of 25-over-par 877 (299-293-285). It marks the Wolverines' fourth top-five team finish of the season and third top-three performance.
"What a week. Maybe the best weather we've had at Bandon," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Curran. "Dane is an extremely special player. To do what he's doing is unheard of. The team dug deep today. Very proud of this result. Ryan and Clement made huge putts on the last hole to help secure second."
Huddleston's 3-under-par 68 on Tuesday featured a nearly flawless round with five birdies and 12 pars. His 11-under-par 202 ranks as the third-best tournament score in Bandon Dunes Championship history across all Bandon Dunes courses, trailing only Arizona State's Chun An Yu (-13) and Washington State's Derek Bayley (-12). He also becomes the second Utah Valley golfer to win an individual title at Bandon Dunes, joining Blair Bursey, who claimed the 2016 championship at 5-under-par.
The victory marks Huddleston's fourth individual win of the season, having also secured titles at the Utah Shootout (Oct. 14), Kapolei Invitational (Oct. 31), and Mesquite Desert Classic (Feb. 18). His four career wins tie former Wolverine Brady McKinlay, who set the program record during the 2022-23 season.
