OPENING TIP
Utah Valley University will host Tarleton State University on Saturday at 2 p.m. MT in the UCCU Center in the regular season finale. Following the game, four players will be recognized on Senior Day: Ally Criddle, Halle Nelson, Danja Stafford Collins, and Tahlia White.Â
The Wolverines (16-11, 8-7) are currently in the No. 6 spot in the conference standings. A UVU win on Saturday would put the team into a tie of the loser of UT Arlington and California Baptist's regular season finale in Arlington. Utah Valley split with both teams so seeding will come down to the WAC resume seeding. The bracket is due to be released on Saturday evening, following the end of the regular season.Â
Tahlia White leads the Wolverines in scoring, averaging 12.1 points per game with Danja Stafford Collins leading the WAC with 9.2 rebounds per game. She's also 14th in the country with an average of 4.2 offensive rebounds per game.
Utah Valley continues to rank near the top of the country in steals, with their 14.0 per game average ranking third in the nation. The team is also sixth nationally in turnovers forced per game at 23.9.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley went cold down the stretch in a 71-62 loss to Abilene Christian on Thursday night in the UCCU Center. The Wolverines (16-11, 8-7) couldn't get a bucket to drop, missing their last seven attempts as the Wildcats (20-10, 9-6) finished the game on a 15-2 run.
Amanda Barcello, behind four first-half 3-pointers, led UVU with 15 points while Halle Nelson added 14 points and eight rebounds, and Tahlia White added 12. Bella Earle had a game-high 26 for ACU, along with 11 rebounds, eight steals, and four assists. The loss drops Utah Valley to the No. 6 seed heading into the final game of the regular season and will have them opening the WAC Tournament next week on Thursday.
