Jang Leads UVU on Day One at WAC Championship

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. — Chloe Jang carded a 4-over-par 76 to lead the Utah Valley women's golf team in Monday's opening round of the WAC Championship at Wigwam Golf Club, placing her in a tie for 23rd on the individual leaderboard. Utah Valley sits in ninth place after posting a team score of 31-over-par 319.

Jang's round was highlighted by a flawless back nine, where she recorded eight pars and one birdie. She added four pars on the front side to cap off her 76.

Valentina Zuleta is tied for 27th after shooting a 5-over-par 77, notching 13 pars in her round.

Rylie Rodriguez shot a 10-over-par 82 and stands in 37th place, tallying two birdies and five pars. Maria Ortiz is in 39th place following a 12-over-par 84, which included one birdie and eight pars. Mia Pace is tied for 41st after carding a 16-over-par 88, recording seven pars on the day.

Tarleton State leads the team leaderboard at 6-over-par 294, while Grand Canyon's Anci Dy, California Baptist's Damini Las Ghanshyani, and Utah Tech's Jenna Anderson share the individual lead at 1-under-par 71.
