Utah Valley softball placed five student-athletes on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, the organization announced in a release on Tuesday.
Junior infielder Britney Moreno, senior outfielder Angelique Mann, sophomore outfielder Amber Rodriguez, sophomore infielder Peyton Hall, and sophomore pitcher and outfielder Avery Sapp were the team's five selections, surpassing the previous program record of four set last season.
The award is given annually to student-athletes who maintain 3.5 cumulative GPA while also appearing in 90% of their team's contests or starting 66%. Pitchers must appear in 17 games and pitch at least 25 innings to qualify.
Moreno, a business major from La Habra, Calif., posted a 3.5 GPA while earning first team All-WAC honors for the first time in her collegiate career. Moreno led the team in hits with 57 and runs scored with 33, while also finishing second in RBIs with 27.
Mann, a psychology major from Tallahassee, Fla., finished her degree this spring with a 3.98 cumulative GPA while also playing every inning for the Wolverines in center field. Mann led the team in doubles and stolen bases with 10 in both categories. This is Mann's second Academic All-District honor after earning the distinction last season.
Rodriguez, a criminal justice major from Covina, Calif., recorded a 3.77 GPA this year while appearing in 41 games this season. Rodriguez recorded a team-best 15-game reached base streak from Feb. 22 against Buffalo to March 22 against Utah Tech, and played a pivotal part in the Wolverines' semifinal run at the WAC Tournament with a team-high seven hits and five runs scored.
Hall, who hails from Spanish Fork, Utah, recorded a 3.79 GPA this term while starting all but two games for the Wolverines this season. Hall was one of the team's top overall contributors this season, finishing tied for second in home runs and third in RBIs with 26. Hall led the team in RBIs during league play with 18.
Sapp, another native of Spanish Fork, Utah, built upon a strong freshman campaign with a stellar sophomore season, earning third team All-Mountain Region honors from the NFCA as a two-way player. Sapp was the workhorse on the pitching staff, tossing a team-high 139.1 innings with 97 strikeouts, while also adding a homer and nine RBIs as a hitter.
